We are bustin’ our tails to make this a free event. Not just any free event, but one with some amazing training, amazing speakers, some great give-aways and, oh yeah, free lunch! So grab your laptop and make a day of it. Heck, make it two!
Event Requirements
- Laptop - Participants must bring their own laptop computers in order to take part in the training. An internet connection should not be required for the training, but wireless access will be available. Your wireless guest account will be created for you and login and password information will be provided the day of the event. All necessary exercise files will be provided on CD, including trial versions of the required software. We strongly recommend, however, that participants download and install the Flex Builder 3 trial before coming to the event. This will save you a lot of time and worry.
- Coding Skills - This will depend on the event and the track. Check the BFusion & BFlex event pages for specifics.
- Money - Nope. We’re just giving this stuff away!
FAQs
- Is it absolutely necessary for me to have my own laptop?
- Yes, this is a hands on training event and you are required to bring your own laptop. We will be supplying the necessary materials / programs that needs to be installed. Please do not register if you are unable to bring your own laptop.
- Is there an internet connection at this event?
- Yes we do have wireless internet that is available although we do not guarantee the connection (speed or availability). A wireless guest account will be created for you and the login and password with be handed when you arrive.
- Can I download the class materials/programs before the event?
- Yes and no. It will depend on the event and track. You can and should download and install the software we will be using. Due to copyright restrictions we cannot distribute the all the exercise files online. You will receive details prior to the event.
- Is this a completely free event?
- Yes, the full day of training, lunch, and some nice door prizes have been provided by our sponsors. You just have to register and get to Bloomington.
- Are any refreshments/food provided at this event?
- We are providing lunch for the attendees. We do advise the attendees to bring their own water bottles as we want to avoid the waste of bottled water.
- Are the classes available to non-attendees after the event?
- At this time we do not plan on having the sessions recorded, though it is possible. We recommend the purchase of Adobe Flex 3: Training from the Source by Tapper, Labriola, Boles and Talbot if you want to get started with Flex on your own. For ColdFusion you’ll want to start with the Adobe ColdFusion 8 Web Application Construction Kit, Volume 1 by Forta, Camden and Arehart and work your way through the trilogy.
- Will it really run the full day?
- Yes, we want to fit in at least 4 hands-on sessions for each track and a keynote. We’ve kept it as tight as we could and we hope you’ll think it was worth it.
- Why aren’t all of the Advanced track sessions hands-on?
- Most of the Flex advanced sessions are hands-on. Most of the ColdFusion sessions are not. Many of the advanced CF presentations deal with topics that would require more time than we can give them a proper hands-on treatment. We hope that those in the advanced CF track will enjoy them nonetheless.
